Our dog was fine with getting it on. He got a size L and it fits him well. He hasn't swum with it yet so I can't judge the buoyancy. But I have the idea that he is safe on the boat should he fall overboard.

I deliberately chose this vest because it has no Velcro straps and therefore the fur does not get stuck when put on.
It fits my male dog very well.
